
The 38th Eastern Iowa Honor flight will take off from the Eastern Iowa Airport at 7:15 AM Tuesday. There will be 90 veterans on the flight, representing the World War II, Korea, and Vietnam eras. Since Iowa Honor Flights began operations in 2009 they have transported 3,245 Veterans, plus their guardians to Washington, DC to visit the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice. While there, they will visit the WWII, Korean, Vietnam memorials, as well as visit Arlington National Cemetery, among other memorials. Estimated return time to Cedar Rapids is 8:45 PM the same day. The community is invited to come out and welcome our veterans home.
