The Highland football team celebrates Senior Night this week when they welcome the Cardinal Comets to Riverside. The Huskies enter the game with a 4-3 overall record after a loss last week to Durant 34-13. Owen Donovan put up 114 yards on eight carries in the loss. For the season the Huskies are led by Connor Grinstead through the air at 34 of 69 for 735 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions. His favorite target is Mason McFarland with 20 catches for 504 yards and four scores. On the ground it’s Cole Adamson with 100 carries for 665 yards and eight touchdowns. Adamson also leads the Highland defense with 52 and a half tackles including one sack.

Cardinal of Eldon also enters play with a 4-3 overall record. In their last game the Comets fell to Belle Plaine 52-20. Maddux Jones leads the Cardinal aerial attack at 67 of 112 for 1,058 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions. His favorite target is Griffin Greiner with 17 catches for 454 yards and five touchdowns. Greiner also leads the Cardinal defense with 36 tackles, three for loss. On the ground Gabe Reyes has 330 yards and seven touchdowns on 46 carries. Highland shut out the Comets a season ago 46-0 on the road. The Huskies will honor six seniors on their roster. Action begins Friday at 7p.m. at Highland High School.
