There was little resistance for the Washington football team last night, as they controlled Fairfield from start to finish in a 71-6 bruising.

Nine players scored 10 touchdowns and it took 13 seconds for one of them to reach the end zone. Jacob Miller took the opening kickoff 85 yards to the house and the party was just getting started. Zac Stout caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Luke Turner and then later in the quarter Turner took a punt 75 yards to pay dirt. There was plenty of fun to go around, as Brady Knutson caught his first touchdown pass of the season, Ethan Hunt hauled one in from 32 yards out, Wyatt Stout ran in from six yards, and Wilx Witthoft rumbled his way in for a nine-yard score. The rout was on with Washington holding a 58-0 advantage at half and that allowed a lot of players to get experience in the final two quarters. The Demon reserves found success as well with Ethan Zieglowsky reaching the end zone after a 32-yard run and Ayden Frazer with the highlight of the game breaking a handful of tackles to go 76 yards for a touchdown. Lucas Kroll, Dillan Sanders, and Zieglowsky all had interceptions for the Demon defense. Turner was 9 of 10 through the air for 154 yards and three touchdowns. Frazer led the ground game with 80 yards.

The win pushes the Demons to a 6-2 record and sets up a de facto play-in game for the playoffs next week against Mount Pleasant (6-2).
