Kalona’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Monument will be receiving $6,000 worth of maintenance. The main section of the monument will be transported for professional cleaning and minor repairs. Additionally, several aging portions of the monument’s cement base are to be replaced. This work is being done in preparation of a proposed complete renovation of the monument intended to take place next fall.
