Free chocolate treats were sampled at 20 businesses in downtown Washington for the inaugural Choctoberfest. Washington Chamber of Commerce Event Coordinator Alisha Davis said she received great comments from both retailers and participants with the downtown filled with people. An estimated 300 people attended the event Thursday evening. Davis adds, they plan to continue it again next year and hopefully make it bigger and better. The event coincided with the final farmers’ market of the year and the Washington Public Library’s 10th Anniversary.
