The Sigourney cross country team will be represented at state next week in Fort Dodge, as Mason Moore cracked the top 15 at a class 1A district meet in Marshalltown on Thursday.
The junior placed 13th in a time of 17:44. The first runner left out of qualifying in 16th clocked in with 17:57. The Savages placed 22nd as a team with 540 points and Madrid won it all with 35. Other Savage runners included Jake Ives in 89th (20:50), Levi Dehne 136th (23:24), Maltese Thomas 148th (25:04), and Zack Ives 154th (27:17).
The girls did not have enough for a team score but Megan Stuhr finished in 122nd (27:20) and Georgia Atwood placed 130th (27:45). Aplington-Parkersburg won the girls title with 59 points.
