The leaf vacuum has started its annual fall cleaning duties in Washington. Residents can rake their leaves into the terrace area, the grass between the street and sidewalk, and then the leaf vacuum will come by and pick them up. Do not put leaves in the street, as they can cause drainage issues and hazards for traffic. The leaf vacuum’s weekly rotation is the northwest quadrant on Monday, the southwest on Tuesday, the southeast on Wednesday, and the northeast each Thursday. Crews will use Fridays as a make up day and if they get ahead on their normal routes they will continue until the end of the day. The leaf vacuum is scheduled to clean Washington through Thanksgiving.
