The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football team had a resurgent season in 2019. One of those reasons were the impressive numbers the Golden Hawks put up on the offensive side of the ball. Mid-Prairie ended 2019 scoring 377 total points, the third most in program history. Their 55 touchdowns scored this year are the second most ever by a Mid-Prairie team. The Golden Hawks outscored their opponents 377-147 on the season in total, including 258-61 in class 2A district six action. Their 11 touchdown outburst against Albia tied the most in a single game in the history of the school while their nine touchdowns apiece in games against Central Lee, Davis County and Eddyville-Blakesburg this year were good for fourth most in a single game. The Golden Hawks gained a total of 3,141 yards on the season, 10th most in the history of the program. They broke the school record for yards in a game by putting up 645 in a victory over Albia in week nine. The 2,213 rushing yards accumulated is the ninth most for a Mid-Prairie team. Their single game performance of 537 yards on the ground against Albia is the most in program history, their 393 yards against Eddyville-Blakesburg is eighth most for a Mid-Prairie team in a single game. Through the air the Golden Hawk offense was led by Brad Tornow at 53 of 107 for 880 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions. His favorite target was Jack Baker with 16 catches for 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns. On the ground Mid-Prairie was led by Kayden Reinier with 1,127 yards and 21 touchdowns on 159 carries. The Golden Hawks ended the season with a 6-3 record.
