The class 1A race at the state cross country meet in Fort Dodge on Saturday featured KCII area runners and all of them cracked the top 100.
On the girls’ side, Highland’s Madison Thomann finished in the top half in 63rd out of 139 runners in a time of 21:21. In the boys’ race Winfield-Mt. Union’s Brody Barton had the top finish in 60th out of 142 competitors with a time of 17:52. Other area runners included Sigourney’s Mason Moore in 75th (18:00) and WACO’s Jonah Egli in 92nd (18:15). Those individuals qualified for the event after cracking the top 15 at districts in Iowa City and Marshalltown.
The state meet was at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge.
