Construction activities for the Washington County Engineer’s Office for the third quarter included five road and culvert projects. At Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting Engineer Jacob Thorius said about 2.5 miles on 170th Street saw improvements, “We had a variety of construction projects wrap up. The 170th Street grading project from Dogwood to the county line wrapped up, we’re still doing the final paperwork but our estimated final cost on that one is $377,203.19.” That work included cleaning out ditches, reshaping the road cross section, and erosion control activities. Other projects included the construction of a box culvert on Orange Avenue for $92,942.01, stabilizing Juniper Avenue from 190th to 170th for $26,143.41, a triple reinforced box culvert on Orange Avenue for $435,606.75, and the 285th grading project for $40,022.50.
