Final preparations are underway for the latest production by the Hillcrest Academy drama department. Students and faculty are in the middle of the last week of rehearsals for this weekend’s performances of Beauty and the Beast. This week, members of the cast spoke about the plot and their favorite parts of the show. “It’s a story about a prince who was turned into a beast. We all really enjoy the argument scene about coming to dinner. It’s high energy and we get to scream. We heard about the show the first week of school, had auditions the week after and have been working on it since. We did individual rehearsals for songs and now we have started doing mass rehearsals with everyone.”

The Beast is played by Martin Vaca. Belle will be Ivana Ebersole. Performances are Saturday, November 9th at 7p.m. and Sunday, November 10th at 3p.m. in Celebration Hall on the campus of Hillcrest Academy. Reserved tickets can be purchased by contacting the school.
