A teenager was arrested after a vehicle pursuit and fleeing on foot. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 8:19 p.m. Saturday, an officer was in pursuit of a vehicle that stopped at the Briarwood Apartments on West Tyler Street. The driver then fled on foot. Two Washington Police officers, three Washington County Sheriff’s deputies, and one Iowa State Patrol officer responded to the scene. Police arrested 18-year-old Javante Melvin Lee Owens of Washington on charges of eluding, reckless driving, failure to obey a traffic control device, and driving under suspension.
