A pickup truck slid into a semi on Highway 218 Monday morning, causing an estimated $160,000 in damages. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, at 8:46 a.m., 30-year-old Joseph Hawkins of Wayland lost control of the pick up on icy roads and slid through a stop sign north of Olds near 115th Street. The Hawkins vehicle collided with the passenger side of a semi driven by 62-year-old Mark Graham of Albia. The semi went into the ditch. Hawkins was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the pickup was estimated at $20,000 and damages to the semi and trailer were estimated at $140,000.
