Production for the Keota girls basketball team will come from new faces this winter, as they have to replace a lot of key players from a 10-13 team a year ago.
The Eagles lost 82% of their scoring to graduation including Addison Sprouse and Paige Thompson with their 22.8 combined points per game. Addison Swanson will look to pick up the slack and improve off of 3.2 points and 3.4 rebounds a night. Sky Weber, Bailey Sieren, and Taylor Kindred are other players that bring back some varsity experience. Head coach Jeff Sprouse tells KCII Sports his team will need to work through the learning curve that will come with the season. “We will have 7 or 8 players so there is plenty of opportunity to play. We will need to be well-conditioned with the low numbers and not just physically but mentally tough as well.”
Keota starts up the season tomorrow when they travel to Highland High School for a tournament.
