Months of hard work for the Washington dance team will culminate with one competition, as the Demons gear up for state December 5th and 6th at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

The Demons will perform their pom and jazz routine at the annual competition. Senior captain Savannah Hall tells KCII Sports what people can expect at the event. “Our pom routine is really intense and involves a lot of energy. Our jazz routine is to the song “Jolene” and is more of a slow and contemporary jazz. The state experience is amazing and is a different atmosphere than other performances because you get to be involved with other schools.” The team is having a state send-off this Sunday that is open to the public. Junior captain Sophia Kleese says it will be a good dress rehearsal for the real thing in a few weeks. “We are going to be performing our two routines for anyone that wants to attend at the high school auditorium. It’s a great opportunity to perform in front of an audience before we get ready for state.”

Other individuals on the team include Demeri Bell, Gabby Anderson, Anna Collett, Haley Mitchell, and Abby Renoux. The send-off begins at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Listen to the full interview with Hall and Kleese during the PM Sports Page or find it archived online at kciiradio.com.
