The Washington and WACO girls’ basketball teams show off their skills tonight for the first time when they meet for the Hall of Pride Scrimmage.
The service project that the Demons are doing for the annual event is they are collecting cans and donations for Hawkeye Cans for Cancer. All funds will go to local cancer patients to help with expenses that are not covered by insurance including gas, parking, and meals when going to and from appointments. There will be boxes at the admissions table for any attendee that would like to donate empty cans and bottles. Entry into the game is $5 and activity passes are accepted. Washington is coming off of an 8-14 campaign a year ago with their second leading scorer in Addison Six returning with 5.7 points per game and Olivia Pacha is back after pacing the team with 114 rebounds. WACO was 7-16 and junior Aubri Garnsey looks to lead the bunch and improve off of 5.6 points a night.
The junior varsity teams play at 6:30 p.m. with varsity set for 8 p.m. tonight at Washington High School.
