The basketball season officially commences tonight for the Washington girls, as they open the year hosting Eddyville-Blakesburg.

The Demons are looking to improve off of an 8-14 season a year ago and they have a group of six seniors leading the charge. Addison Six is back after averaging 5.7 points a game as a junior and Olivia Pacha looks to pick up right where she left off on the boards, as she averaged 5.2 rebounds a night. The Rockets are coming off of a 3-16 campaign, but they return leading scorer Madysen Wade with 9.6 points a game and 69 steals. These two teams have met up in the season opener in every year since 2010 with the Demons winning every one.

The season gets underway at 7:45 p.m. in Washington. Listen to all of the action on FM 106.1 KCII starting at 7:15 p.m.
