A story of how an angel helps a family will be presented in this year’s live radio play on KCII and in downtown Washington. On Saturday, the Washington Community Theater, the Washington Public Library, and KCII Radio are again teaming up to present The Bishop’s Wife. The show is under the direction of Chris Hanson, who shares it is about a bishop who is obsessing about building a new cathedral and has lost focus on his marriage, and they’re struggling and they’re visited by an angel who helps them realize the importance of relationships with loved ones. The show was remade into the movie The Preacher’s Wife in 1996.
The windows of the library will become the radio studio and those in attendance will see the actors in 1940’s clothing, as it would’ve been presented originally. People are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets to watch the show in person as it’s broadcast on KCII. If you’re out of town, you can listen in on AM and FM KCII, online at KCIIRadio.com, or through our free mobile app. The show begins at 5 p.m. Saturday.
