The south gym entrance construction project has been put on hold by the Lone Tree school board. At their recent meeting concerns were brought up by members of the board and members of the public who spoke during a forum regarding funding for the project. The district had applied for a $200,000 grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation for the project and did not receive any contributions. Bids were opened for the project in October and a low bid was received from McComas Lacina Construction of Iowa City. The district has also paid half of their $85,000 contract with Neumann Monson Architects for their work on the project. Discussion from administration was focused on continuing to move things forward on the original time table even if the project is tabled. The 3-2 vote tables the $627,000 project.
