In the first road trip of the young season, the Winfield-Mt. Union girls’ basketball team had a hard time slowing down Mediapolis falling 64-32 on Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs brought the intensity early, jumping out to a 16-4 advantage at the end of one and 37-13 at the break. That            lead continued to get steeper in the second half on the strength of pressure Bulldog defense that turned the Wolves over 41 times in the game. Jobey Malone was a bright spot for WMU connecting on all six of her shots and finishing with a game-high 13 points and six rebounds. Keely Malone and Ali Cockerham each chipped in with five points apiece.

The Wolves drop to 1-1 and they get back on the court Tuesday at Pekin.
