The Hillcrest Academy girls basketball team got their first victory of the season on Tuesday, going on the road to beat Tri-County 34-28. It was a defensive battle early with the Ravens not getting their first field goal until the second quarter, they trailed 7-2 after one frame and 10-9 at the half. In the second half, Esther Hughes got on track, finishing with a career high 18 points. The Ravens had a slim 19-18 lead after the third and held on down the stretch for the six point victory. Yani Gutierrez also got to double figures with 11 points to go with four assists and four steals.
