This week the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association released its All-State football teams and three Washington players were recognized.

Trashaun Willis headlined the selections being named to the second team defense as a linebacker. The junior was the captain of the defense and recorded the 10th most tackles in the district with 47.5 including nine for a loss. Ryan Friese was named third team offense as a lineman. The 6’4’’ 265 lb senior was a leader of a line that helped pave the way to the eighth best rushing team in class 3A with 2,411 yards. Luke Turner was third team as a returner. He took one of his returnable punts to the house, but was known for his explosiveness offensively. The senior quarterback finished second in the district in total yards with 2,819 and he was responsible for 36 touchdowns.

The trio was a big reason why the Demons got back to the state playoffs and finished 7-3 on the season.
