Three Highland football players continue to be recognized for their play on the gridiron this fall, as they were named to the All State teams released by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association.
Owen Donovan headlined the selections being named to the second team for class A as a returner. The junior was a versatile player for the Huskies that averaged 26 yards per return including taking one back to the house. He also was seventh in the league in rushing with 726 yards and was responsible for 10 touchdowns. Mason McFarland was named to the third team as a wide receiver. The senior led the district in receiving with 25 receptions for 625 yards and six scores. Zack Lasek was also named to the third team as a defensive lineman. The senior tallied four sacks on the year and was responsible for 54 tackles.
The trio helped the Huskies to a 5-4 season.
