The Washington County budget was discussed at the recent meeting of the county supervisors. The board discussed a zero percent increase for operating expenses, but no directive was made for wages and benefits. A motion came from Abe Miller, “I would make the motion to, regarding the fiscal 21 year budget, 20-21 year budget, hold it at a zero percent increase.” The county compensation board is set to meet Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington County Courthouse. At that meeting, a directive for elected officials’ wages will be set and sent to the supervisors to consider.
