sigourney-3

The boys and girls basketball season at Sigourney High School officially commence tomorrow when they open hosting Tri-County.

The Savage girls will look to pick up right where they left off last year with a 19-4 record. Megan Stuhr is back for her senior campaign after averaging 13.8 points a night last season. The Trojans were on hiatus last winter and did not field a team, but two years ago were 4-17 in the South Iowa Cedar League.

The Sigourney boys were 12-10 and must reload with a lot of new faces stepping in. They do bring back Ben House and his team-leading 53 assists and Eric Johnson averaged 4.9 points a night as a junior. Tri-County went 0-20, but they return leading scorer Brayden Monroe and his 16.7 points a game.

The girls’ season gets underway at 6 p.m. tomorrow with the boys to follow in Sigourney.
