Strong winds blew through southeast Iowa Wednesday and caused damage at Highland Schools. Wind gusts of more than 50 miles per hour were recorded in the area and lifted the rubber roof and an exhaust fan off of the high school gym. Damage was confined to the gym area of the building. Construction crews worked through the day to refasten the roof.
