Christmas trees line the sidewalks of Washington’s Central Park and each one honors a loved one. The Lights of Love Memory Trees have been installed for the holiday season. Each evergreen is covered in lights and a wooden sign shares who the tree is honoring. Some families have decorated the trees to personalize it. The program is part of Main Street Washington and director Sarah Grunewaldt says it is a way to “fill the park up with some extra Christmas cheer” while remembering those we love who have gone before us. If you’d like to honor a loved one with a Christmas tree contact Main Street Washington, the $100 donation goes to pay for the tree, the sign, and help the non-profit organization.
