The home opener was last night for the WACO basketball teams and the Warriors split a doubleheader with West Burlington.

The girls got their offense jumpstarted, but could not keep up with the Falcons falling 73-42. They had a hard time stopping West Burlington’s Annaka Harris, as she finished with a game-high 27 points. Ellah Kissell paced the now 0-3 Warriors with nine points and Lindsey Roth had seven.

The Warrior boys had a hard fought 58-51 win over the Falcons. Drew Kissell had a big night with 16 points and Nik Coble chipped in with 12 for a WACO team that moves to 2-0 on the young season.

Both squads host Cardinal on Tuesday.
