The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk wrestling team had a runner-up finish Saturday at the Jeremy Fulk Classic in New London. Mid-Prairie finished with 157 team points, behind host and champion New London with 178. Mid-Prairie was led by three individual champions. Cael Garvey took gold at 170lbs beating Chase Kruse of Louisa-Muscatine by fall in 2:33. Cory Allen was the champ at 182 winning his title match over Gavin Holmes of New London by 9-7 decision. Isaac Boucher won the title at 195lbs beating Jeramie Kane of BGM in the title match by fall in 1:40.
Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union was third in the team race with 141 points. The Wildcats had a pair of champions with Lane Scorpil winning at 106lbs in the title match over Cale Reding of BGM by fall in 35 seconds and Cameron Rice taking the title at 152 by 6-3 decision over Max Mashek of Louisa-Muscatine.
WACO finished sixth of six competing teams with their score of 112.5 points. The Warriors had a pair of champions with Ryan Maschmann taking the title at 132 with a 9-8 decision over Garrett Palmer of Columbus and Jonah Clark winning the championship at 145 over Max McCulley of Louisa-Muscatine by 8-5 decision.
