The City of Keota is ready to take the next step in their plans to improve recreation facilities in the city. At the grant ceremony for the Washington County Riverboat Foundation the city was awarded $26,365. Their grant proposal described the next set of improvements the money will be used for including a focus on safety. The monies will be used to repair fences, the concession stand, add safety rails to bleachers, replace the scoreboard and improve the concession stand.”
Phase one of the projects were improvements to local ball fields which included leveling out the playing surface with dirt, installing new lighting and new fencing.
