Last weekend was the Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association state competition in Des Moines and a lot of area teams had high rankings.
Washington finished eighth in the class II contemporary competition with a 77.5 average rating out of 100 and eighth in the class X pom with an 80.25 average. Both scores landed them a division I ranking. Highland competed in class IV pom and had a 71.63 average placing 10th overall while WACO was eighth in class II pom with an 82.63 average. Lone Tree had three events and finished sixth in class III pom (90.88), sixth in class I jazz (74.5), and fifth in class I lyrical (82.63).
