The budget for next fiscal year was top priority in a work session held by the Lone Tree City Council earlier this month. Early discussion in the meeting centered on state regulations regarding budgeting. Council made the decision to keep property tax rates the same next fiscal year at 8.25%. Other discussion items included the sheriff’s contract, public works assessing alley ways that need to be sealed and getting estimates for that work, addition of five to six more solar speed signs at entrances to the city, estimates for water plant, pump station and utility billing upgrades, replacement of water meters citywide, city refuse contract, and park expenditures.
