Veterans are in Washington County for a special deer hunt and will be meeting with the public Saturday. Healing at English River Outfitters, also known as HERO, has coordinated the hunt. It corresponds with shotgun season. The meet and greet starts at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Riverside VFW. The public is welcome. There will be a meal, 50/50 drawing, and both live and silent auctions. HERO is a non-profit organization that provides free outdoor experiences for veterans in an effort to help them heal and connect with others.
