One person was taken to the hospital after a fire in rural Brighton. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 1:26 p.m. Saturday a fire inside a residence was reported to emergency officials. The fire was in the 2600 grid of 116th Boulevard, near East Pleasant Plain. Everyone was able to get out of the house, but one person was convulsing. He was taken by ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospital. Washington County Ambulance and Midwest Ambulance Service assisted. Brighton Fire Department extinguished the fire.
