A pair of KCII area wrestling teams were on the mat last weekend in Troy Mills at the North Linn Lynx Invitational. The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks posted the top area team finish, taking fourth with 121 team points. Dyerville-Beckman won the title with 161 points. Mid-Prairie crowned two champions on the day. Cael Garvey improved to 18-1 on the year winning the 170lb weight class. He took the title match over Connor Timm of Belle Plaine by 5-2 decision. Isaac Boucher moved to 15-2 on the year as he rolled to the 195lb title. Boucher took the title match over Nathan Rechkemmer of North Linn by fall in just 30 seconds. Other finishers for the Hawks included Josh Wallington runner-up at 220lbs, Mose Yoder third at 113lbs and Gannon Callahan third at 285lbs.
Highland finished 13th of 15 teams with a score of 51 points. Easton Schlabaugh posted the top finish for the Huskies, taking runner-up at 106. He stands at 14-2 on the year after dropping a 7-4 title match decision to Nick Schmidt of Beckman Catholic. Other finishes for Highland included Cael Yeggy fourth at 182lbs, and Justin Sosa and Logan Bonebrake sixth.
