The Columbus Winfield-Mt. Union wrestling team continued its dual season roll into the holiday break, sweeping a Southeast Iowa Superconference triangular against Pekin and Van Buren. The Wildcats beat the Warriors 72-6. Columbus got wins in contested matches from Lane Scorpil at 113lbs, Jeff Hoback at 126 by fall, Manny Jacobo by fall at 132, Adan Martinez at 152 by fall, Robert Loveless at 182 by fall and Seth Schurr at 285 by fall.

The dual with the Panthers was closer but the Wildcats still came away with a 50-21 victory. Columbus got wins in contested matches from Lane Scorpil at 113lbs by tech fall 18-3, Michael Jones at 138 by fall, Cameron Rice at 152 by 6-5 decision, Noah Freeman at 170 by fall, Robert Loveless at 182 by fall, and Kai Malone at 195 by fall. The Wildcats enter the Christmas break with a 5-1 team dual record.
