The totals are in and the Columbus Community School District blew away their monetary goal in the Change for Change project fundraiser. Wildcat middle school and high school students spent three and a half weeks collecting spare change with a goal of raising $1,000. The final tally saw the students bring in $1,800. Columbus schools have been participating for more than 20 years in this project and this amount is one of the largest ever recorded. The organization is a non-profit that bases their idea of making positive changes to the community by taking small change, extra coins lying around, to make big changes.
