police-car-3

Ring in the new year safely and have a plan in place on how you’ll get home safely before the party starts. That’s the advice Washington County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Shawn Ellingson shared, “I think that most people that we deal with on a professional basis about 2:00 in the morning just didn’t plan ahead. You know, maybe the night turns into something they didn’t expect, and maybe they partied it up a little too much. The big thing is have a plan, have somebody who is going to drive, stay somewhere, or have a designated driver.” The Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington Police Department will be focused on people getting to their celebrations safely and remind drivers that buzzed driving is drunk driving. Motorists across the state will see an increased presence of law enforcement.
