The Sigourney School District will offer an early retirement incentive plan to employees. The board approved a plan that would allow staff members who are at least 55 years of age with at least 10 continuous years of service to the district, the option of early retirement. Benefits would include an amount equal to their 2019-2020 salary, unused sick leave paid at $100 per day up to a maximum of 100 days, and the equivalent of five year’s health insurance at a $700 per month premium. The district will now work with their legal team to develop a plan based on these parameters.
