The New London Tigers swept a Southeast Iowa Superconference doubleheader at Hillcrest Academy Saturday night. In a pair of games heard on AM and FM KCII, the Tiger boys took care of business with a 53-34 win. The Tigers never trailed on the night, jumping out to a 4-0 lead early, a 14-8 lead after one quarter and a 29-14 advantage at half. The Tigers kept a stranglehold on the game by outscoring the Ravens 12-7 in the third quarter. Eli Ours led the way for Hillcrest with 13 points, including three second half three point goals.  The Hillcrest boys are now 4-4 on the season.

In the girls contest, New London scored their third win of the year by a 73-42 score. The Tigers got up big early, leading 23-6 after one quarter and 36-18 at half. In the second half, New London put the game out of reach, outscoring Hillcrest 22-12 in the third quarter. Layney Loyd had 23 points to lead the Tigers, Hillcrest was led by Esther Hughes with 15. The Ravens are now 1-9 on the year.
