The Winfield-Mt. Union boys’ basketball team snapped a four-game losing skid on Tuesday night; as they got their first win of 2020 with a 61-43 win at Louisa-Muscatine.
The first half is when the bulk of the work came with the Wolves leading 15-6 after one and extending it to 33-15 at the break. WMU held serve the rest of the way to come out with a conference victory. Three players carried the load offensively with Daunte Oepping leading the way recording 17 points on seven of nine shooting and 10 rebounds. Juanito Piper had 16 points and Jared Arnold nabbed 14 with seven boards.
The Wolves improve to 3-6 and they get back on the court Friday night hosting Mediapolis. WMU will have their annual alumni night and honor the 1995 State Championship teams.
