The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk basketball teams are back on the floor tonight when they welcome the West Branch Bears to Wellman. The Golden Hawk girls enter the night with a 3-5 overall record. Last time out they beat Wilton 62-44 behind 16 points from Myah Lugar, on the season the Hawks are led by Maddie Nonnenmann and Lugar each at 11 points per contest. Lugar also leads the Hawks on the glass with 40 boards. Amara Jones has the team lead with 36 steals and 27 assists.

West Branch comes into the contest with an overall record of 9-2. In their last game they beat West Liberty 55-43 behind 14 points from Sasha Koenig and 10 from Rylan Druecker. On the season the Bears are led by Koenig at 17 points per game. She is also the team leader with 69 assists and 40 steals. On the glass Kaiya Luneckas is the leader with 115 boards. These two teams met a season ago with the Bears sweeping both games by scores of 52-46 in West Branch and 49-40 in Wellman.

The Mid-Prairie boys come into the night with an overall mark of 2-5. Last game they beat Wilton 62-43 with Ethan Trimpe scoring 20 points. On the year the Hawks are led by Trimpe and Carter Harmsen each scoring 12 points per game. Brad Tornow has the team lead with 34 assists. Aidan Rath is best on the board with 48 rebounds. West Branch comes into the game with an overall record of 8-1. Last time out, they handled West Liberty 49-31. For the season the Bears are led by Jeff Bowie scoring 14 points per game. He’s also the leading rebounder with 50 on the campaign. Matt Whaley has the team lead with 29 assists and 15 steals. These two teams met a year ago with the Bears sweeping the Hawks 63-60 at West Branch and 74-62 in Wellman.
