Two change orders on the construction of the Washington County Communications Building and Emergency Operations Center were approved Tuesday. At the regular meeting of the Washington County Board of Supervisors, an update on the construction project was presented by Matt Miller with Carl A. Nelson and Company, “The new communication and emergency operations center building is up and out of the ground. It’s enclosed, we have a precast roof on it. Next week should have the roofing membrane on and be completely dried in. So that puts us pretty close to on schedule, so that’s exciting. You can get the feel of the building.” The first change order was a credit of $189 back to the county. That change order was with DeLong Construction and Miller said excavation work had not encountered poor soil conditions as it had been anticipated. The second was a net increase of $2,287.95 to Peak Construction. Miller said this came from the contingency fund and the project is still on budget.
