Due to impending weather the Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams have moved their doubleheader at West Liberty from Friday to tonight. The Mid-Prairie girls come into the game at 3-6 on the year after a 45-32 win at Durant. The Hawks were led on Tuesday by Maddie Nonnenmann with 17 points. On the season she leads Mid-Prairie at 12 points per game. Myah Lugar is the team’s leading rebounder with 56 total boards. Amara Jones leads the Hawks with 44 steals and 35 assists.
West Liberty comes into the night with an overall record of 10-2. Last time the Comets were in action they rolled Wilton on the road 67-40. On the season West Liberty is led by Macy Daufeldt at 14 points per game. She is also the team leader on the glass with 78 rebounds. Sailor Hall paces the Comets with 36 assists. The Comets were a winner in Wellman earlier this year 63-61 behind 17 from Daufeldt and 14 from Finley Hall. Mid-Prairie was led that night by Nonnenmann with 23 and Myah Lugar with 13.
The Mid-Prairie boys come into the game with an overall mark of 2-7. They fell at Durant on Tuesday 62-52 with 13 points coming from Ethan Trimpe. Carter Harmsen leads the Hawks at 13 points per game. Aidan Rath is the leader on the glass with 63 boards while Brad Tornow paces the Golden Hawks with 40 assists.
West Liberty comes in with an overall mark of 2-10. Last game they lost at Wilton 66-56 on Tuesday, despite a 23 point effort from Gavin Chown. For the season the Comets are led by Chown at 16 points per game. He is also the leader on the boards with 59 rebounds. Caleb Wulf has 20 assists so far to lead the team. These two met in Wellman to open the season with Mid-Prairie winning 64-55 with Harmsen leading the Hawks scoring 16.
