People everywhere are celebrating the coming of the new decade, but Hillcrest Academy is celebrating 75 years next school year. Hillcrest Academy is celebrating by creating a cookbook filled with recipes, stories, and photos of the past, and they need the help of alumni and students. Jeremey Ours, Director of Advancement at Hillcrest Academy, tells KCII News once the cookbook is published, anyone in the public will be able to get a copy, “It’ll be available to anyone that cares to get one. We want to make it available to locals. We have alumni all over the country and all over the world. We want folks to have every opportunity both to contribute by sending in recipes or photos or stories but also then ultimately later in the year when we publish the books themselves, for those same folks to have the opportunity to buy one for themselves.” The academy is also working closely with a publisher in eastern Iowa in order to cut down on costs and provide the community with the best possible cookbook. Ours also says there will be events coming in the summer to celebrate 75 years of Hillcrest. If you would like to contribute to the cookbook, you can send photos, recipes, and stories to recipes@hillcrestravens.org
