The Iowa State Patrol had 371 calls for service from 8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday. Those calls included 150 crashes and 221 motorist assists. During that same time, Washington County had eight calls for service of traffic accidents, including vehicles sliding into ditches. One of those calls included a vehicle hitting a snowplow in Kalona. The two drivers were Timothy Smith and Kyle Kron. Kron was cited for no insurance accident related and failure to yield upon entering a through highway. No injuries were reported.
