
Snow, ice, and sleet caused issues across southeast Iowa over the weekend. The snow Friday was covered by a sheet of ice. According to the National Weather Service, a weather spotter in Washington received 4.5 inches of snow, Columbus Junction had 3.5 inches of snow, and Fairfield had three inches. Wind gusts in Washington reached 30 miles per hour Saturday afternoon and into the evening. Temperatures are expected to warm up as the week goes on with a chance for snow later in the week.
