The Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams are on the road tonight to take on the Tigers in Tipton. the Golden Hawk girls come into the game with an overall mark of 4-8 on the year. They were beaten Monday in Wellman 74-27 by West Branch. Maddie Nonnenmann led the way with 10 points. On the season, the Hawks are led by Nonnenmann scoring 12 points per game. Lugar is the team leader on the glass with 62 boards,. Amara Jones paces the Hawks with 47 steals and 41 assists.
Tipton enters play with an overall record of 4-9. The Tigers lost at Regina on Thursday 47-26. For the year the Tigers are led by Rachel Bierman at 11 points per game. She’s the team leader on the glass with 98 rebounds. Alex Hoffman has a team best 21 assists. These two teams met earlier in the year with the Hawks winning a 35-28 defensive battle in Wellman, led by Phelan Hostetler’s 13 points.
The Mid-Prairie boys are 3-8 on the year after a heartbreaking loss on Monday in Wellman to top 10 West Branch 57-55 in overtime. Ethan Trimpe and Carter Harmsen each had 14 points. On the year, the Hawks are led by Harmsen at 13 points per game. Brad Tornow has the team lead with 49 assists and Aidan Rath has a team best 68 rebounds.
Tipton comes in with a 4-9 record. They lost at Regina Thursday 65-41 with Trent Pelzer scoring 13 points. On the season the Tigers are led by Frank Bierman at 13 points per game. He’s the team leader with 143 boards and 23 assists. These teams met in Wellman earlier this season with the Tigers winning 57-48 behind 21 points from Colby Kleppe.
