A rare Tuesday wrestling tournament took place in Wayland to make up for a postponement and six KCII schools competed last night.

Mid-Prairie had an impressive night finishing second out of 13 teams with 153 points while New London edged them with 191. The upper weights continue to lead the Golden Hawks, as they had three champions including Cory Allen at 182 lbs, Isaac Boucher at 195 lbs, and Gannon Callahan at 285 lbs. Vinnie Bowlin finished second at 152 lbs. Columbus Community/Winfield-Mt. Union was next in line placing third with 138 points. Lane Scorpil and Cam Rice are a combined 40-0 on the season with Scorpil winning all three matches at 106 lbs and Rice doing the same at 145 lbs. Washington was fourth with 93 points and senior Brandon Dickel had a pair of pins to be crowned champ at 132 lbs while Ayden Frazer was second at 160 lbs. Other area results included Highland eighth with 77 points, WACO ninth with 74, and Lone Tree 13th with 24. Second place finishes for the Huskies were Bryce Thompson at 106 lbs and Easton Schlabaugh at 132 lbs. WACO’s Jaden Williams put on a show for the home crowd winning a title at 152 lbs while Lone Tree’s Will Hotz at 170 lbs and Tim Mills at 220 lbs each placed second.
