West Liberty is 17-3 on the year coming into tonight and undefeated in River Valley Conference duals. Last time out in dual action, the Comets swept West Branch and Camanche Thursday for senior night. The Comets have two ranked wrestlers in their lineup with Will Esmoil No. 1 in class 2A at 152lbs and Kobe Simon No. 2 at 220lbs. The Comets beat the Golden Hawks 73-12 a season ago.

Durant comes into the night with an overall dual record of 3-7. Last time the Wildcats were on the mat they split a triangular by beating Northeast Goose Lake and falling to Iowa City Regina last Thursday. The Golden Hawks beat Durant 48-12 last season.

Wilton will be on their home mat for senior night. The Beavers come in with a dual record of 14-6. The Beavers last were in action in a River Valley Conference quad Thursday against Bellevue, Tipton and Monticello where they beat the Comets and fell to the Tigers and Panthers. The Beavers have two ranked wrestlers in their lineup with Kael Brisker at No. 5 in class 1A at 126lbs and Coy Baker at No. 4 at 182lbs. The Beavers got by the Golden Hawks last year 39-36. This week, Mid-Prairie head coach Justin Garvey talked about the final regular season quad. “We’ll see West Liberty first, very talented team in our conference. We haven’t seen them yet this year so there are some key matchups we are looking for when it comes to conference tournament seeding for next week. We wrestle Wilton in the second dual of the night. Traditionally strong as well. Our staff was talking and we don’t think Mid-Prairie has ever beaten Wilton in a dual in school history. This year, I think we have the guys to do it if we come out and wrestle to our potential. We will finish against Durant. They are still down but their numbers are growing.”

Action begins tonight at 5:30 at Wilton High School.
